Perspective

Now that I'm mostly recovered from my own little personal worries, I'm listening to the news & am in shock about the devastating tragedies going on yet again in the world. This seems to be one of the worst years I can ever remember for catastrophic events happening all over the world. It's almost as though we're fleas, and Gaia's determined to kick us off of her....
My heart goes out to all the people involved in these latest tragic events.
Inventors/engineers: nerf buildings would also be an idea whose time has come (see Car-Ma post).

Terri:

Thank you for the kind comment about my son, Adam, on my blog. As he is so far away (in Scotland), it does make it just that much harder to deal with. I thought I was handling everything ok, but then I had a really bad night...very hard to sleep, thinking of how awful he looks and what kind of long-term treatment he is going to need for his missing and damaged teeth.

Thank goodness that your daughter is also all right. Like you, I count my blessings that my child's injuries were not worse. I don't know if you were reading my blog when my sister's only son was killed in a car accident a couple of years ago...it certainly changed my perspective on life and most certainly had an impact on the way I responded to what happened to Adam. When you have seen the absolute worst that can happen to a parent, you realize your luck much more quickly, I think.

Again, thanks for your kindness.

I'm so sorry about your nephew - that would make your son's accident all the more worrisome & I can definitely see how that would change your whole perspective. I've only been reading your blog for a few months, & didn't know of your family's loss. My sincere (if belated) condolences to you & your family.

My best wishes to your son for a quick recovery & to you too, fellow mom, that you can rest easy soon.

Thank you for your kind reply,

Terri

Would you happen to be the Terri Tinker who was at Indiana University in the mid to late '60s?

Sorry to disappoint you, Dan, but sadly I've never been to Indiana University in any decade! Thanks for stopping by & reading though...Good luck getting in touch with your old friend! (Tinker is just a nickname given me by a friend)
Peace,
Terri, a.k.a. Tinker
